Hi my name is Tony Schofield also known as 'Schoey'.

I developed Scho's Fishing School in 2005 in honour of my dad.  The Idea is to give people of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds the chance to have a fun and educational experience while learning about recreational fishing. The business operates throughout the year on a hobbie basis as I also work for different companies and organisations part time as an outdoor recreation guide.

Too often I have been witness to the novice angler losing expensive gear, tackle and line through snags, tangles or simply bad rig choice or unknowingly putting undersized or even protected species in their catch bags to take home.  Or what about the 'great white hunter' who no matter how hard he tries he cannot manage to land a catch even though around him plenty of others are.

ENOUGH I thought.  I should start a business hence "Scho's Fishing School" was born.

My dad taught me the art of recreational fishing from a very young age and after spending a lifetime in the hospitality industry and around the coastal marine environment I realised there was a need to educate the public and indeed the holiday maker on safe and sustainable fishing practices. I developed Scho's Fishing School in 2005 in honour of my dad who sadly passed away in 2003 of cancer.

As mentioned I have spent my working life in the hospitality industry and have travelled and worked all ouround Australia for different companies and organisations including on Keppel Island and at Broome and Darwin in the Top End.  I currently work part time as an outdoor recreation guide in the Port Stephens and Great Lakes regions and my current qualifications include:

Cert IV Small Business Management

Cert IV Training and Assessment

Cet IV Kayak and Canoe Instructor

Cert III Outdoor Recreation

Cert III Recreational Fishing

Cert III Tourism - Guiding

Senior First Aid
